Creating Success with Effective Proposals
Barking Kudu – 2929 7th Ave. South

Learning Objectives:
Regardless of your expertise and experience as a design firm, a poor proposal can equate to losing a job that should have been yours! Architects have the education, training, experience and vision to maximize an owner’s construction dollar and ease the entire design and construction process. However, in order to maximize the potential of securing the work you deserve, it is important to evaluate the message you send to your prospective clients. This program will help architectural firms review their proposal efforts – from a go/no go decision-making process to a review of what to include and not include in a proposal. The content also includes information about formatting and proposal layout design, common mistakes, language blunders and other useful tips that participants can put to use immediately in their day-to-day marketing efforts.
RSVP by January 13th. If you RSVP and cannot attend, you will still be invoiced.
Length: 1 hour         Credits: 1 Learning Unit          HSW: No

Environmental Graphics focus of Radius Graphic Design

Radius Graphic Design fills a void in the industry marketplace. Lead by Chris Green, with nearly twenty years of experience as a graphic designer and illustrator, Radius Graphic Design specializes in environmental graphic design. “Distinctive design elements that can be carried throughout - from logos and graphic elements to directional signage - establish the tone and reinforce the identity of a commercial or residential development,” said Green. “Wayfinding graphics are often seen as a navigational afterthought, without due consideration of the impact they have to an overall architectural design concept. Essentially, they can distinguish the brand not only for the developer and development, but to the consumer in the marketplace. These graphic design elements can either enhance or detract from the appeal of the property.”

Green’s professional experience includes architectural and wayfinding graphics, logo design, illustration and marketing, print, presentation and fundraising graphics for a variety of project types, including exhibit, corporate, retail, healthcare, educational, transportation and historic renovation.

His distinctive project work includes Vulcan Park Redevelopment and Visitor Center, Birmingham, AL; Sloss Furnaces National Historic Landmark Visitors Center, Birmingham, AL; Colonial Pinnacle at Tutwiler Farms, Trussville, AL; Nashville West, Nashville, TN; Larry D. Striplin Fitness & Recreation Center, Birmingham-Southern College, Birmingham, AL; John Hand Building Renovation, Birmingham, AL; Women’s and Children’s Pavillion, Northeast Alabama Regional MedicalCenter, Anniston, AL; Grand Boulevard Shopping Center, Destin, FL; Southtrust Operations Center, Birmingham, AL; Aventura Hospital and Medical Center, Aventura, FL.

AIA Birmingham would like to thank Green for his contributions to so many of our programs; Design Awards, dreamArchitecture, sponsorship brochure and our golf tournament.
