Work With High School Students Who want To be Architects!
Studio I is our high school program that works with students from area high schools who are interested in architecture.  There are not many programs available to students to learn about architecture; therefore it is up to us.  The program is one Saturday a month during the school year, September thru April.  Visit our website to learn more or call the AIA office, 322-4386.

Congratulations Williams Blackstock Architects!!!
Williams Blackstock Architects, P.C., of Birmingham was honored as Architect of the Year by the Alabama Associated General Contractors during the AGC’s 2007 Build Alabama Awards Banquet January 12.  The award was created to recognize the key role of a good working relationship with design professionals in a successful construction project.

Golf Tournament at Limestone Springs
The Construction Education Foundation of Alabama (CEFA) was created by the industry, ABC, AGC, ACIA, and others, to provide training opportunities throughout the State and to recruit new workers to the industry. CEFA currently has apprenticeship programs in Birmingham, Tuscaloosa, Montgomery, and Mobile. Also, CEFA is working hard to recruit new workers to the industry. We have already reached out to more than 800 high school seniors and their parents to let them know about the opportunities that are available in the industry. Our goal is to speak to seniors at 100 high schools.

CEFA is excited to announce the Construction Education Foundation Golf Tournament April 2nd, 2007 at Limestone Springs. This is a fundraising event that will aid CEFA in continuing its mission.

Market Entry Strategy
“Don’t miss the chance to hear Bruce Lea, Regional Business Development Manager for Gilbane Building Company in Atlanta Georgia as he speaks about successfully maneuvering your firm through the process of changing course to meet new market opportunities.
How many times has your firm found itself with declining revenue from a maturing market and the need to move into an emerging market with tremendous potential, but you just were not sure how to proceed?
Bruce will provide helpful insights and clarity into the reinvention and re-positioning of your firm to target the opportunities of the future.
