The Birmingham Chapter of AIA participates in a variety
of school programs teaching youth about the importance
of architecture, including Studio I, an outreach program
for high school students and Dream Architecture, our
outreach for grade schools. To learn more click on

dreamArchitecture AIA Birmingham’s “Draw Your
Dream” Art Contest is a community outreach program
designed to promote public awareness of Architecture
and foster awareness of our “Magic City” Downtown
City Center. The first “Draw Your Dream” Art
Contest was held in 1997. Since that time, the contest
has involved numerous themes, including “Draw
Your Dream House” , “Draw Your Dream City
Skyscraper” and “Draw Your Dream Downtown”.
These themes allow children to explore the possibilities
of the downtown buildings where people live, work and
play.
