Winning Design
Melissa Johnson and
Stacey Brewer

Eight students from local high schools participated in the recent event; they were divided into three teams with one architect leading each team (Mike Sprader, Robert Bruner and Anne Marie Ellis (Herrington Architects)).  They had approximately 2.5 hours to design and build a suitcase to house dress shirts and ties, and could only use cardboard and twine (glue is for sissies).

Studio I - End of Year Bash
The Studio I end of year bash was a huge success.  Carrie Johnson, chair person of studio i recognized each student with a nice gift.  Parents, teachers and architects watched power point presentations of the charrettes the students participated in throughout the year.  The students were still excited about winning and those who did not win still thought their design ideas were as great as the others!!  We even discussed it again at the end of year bash.  There are a few disgruntled architects whose team did not win!!  Try again next year and good luck.
We will keep you posted on the 2006/2007 studio i.

Others may talk, but architects walk the walk on sustainable design.
